Legally Blind Graphic Design: A Hi-Fi Village Playlist
This week's Hi-Fi Village Playlist
A strange time was had by all at the first Hi-Fi Village gathering of 2026. Some very lo-fi bebop things were played by someone that tends toward 70s Laurel Canyon country rock. A villager we call “Footstool” —because of his vast knowledge of all things nylon stringed— brought the catgut goods. It was the exact 100th birthday of Sir George Martin so we got deep into the mono Revolver deep cuts, including a delightful peek into the arrangement of the strings on “Eleanor Rigby,” which sound almost exactly like they were written by Philip Glass. George Benson cooked our faces off. There was even some Bulgarian liturgical bathos. A few of the early records looked like they were designed by the drummer’s niece, and so the title. All the tunes, but one, the zesty commercial folk-pop “Ain’t it a Drag,” by Every Mother’s Son, turned out to be on Spotify (!!!) so, enjoy.
As always, our playlists are completely improvised during vinyl-only listening sessions featuring an all-star cast of Record Lung staffers and board members. — Ed.

Can't say I ever thought about Poco even a little. (You get it.) I have changed my ways.
You left out the most critical discovery, namely, the discovery that Bruce Milner, the keyboardist from Every Mother's Son, is your dentist.
